Chris Billings, CFA

Chris has more than 27 years of experience in the investment industry. He is responsible for defining investment objectives and implementing investment strategies in accordance with those objectives. He also oversees the ongoing management of equity, fixed-income, and mutual fund assets for individual trust and institutional clients.
Prior to returning to Boise in 2002, Chris was a Partner, a Senior Portfolio Manager, and Chief Quantitative Strategist at a financial firm in Seattle, where he was responsible for directing and supervising the portfolio management process for individual and institutional clients. In addition, he was responsible for development and marketing of the Alternative Investments division. Areas of focus included performance enhancement through the use of derivatives, hedging strategies, and structured products.
Chris is a graduate of the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in September of 1999. Chris is a member of the CFA Institute and a past member for the College of Business and Economics Advisory Board at the University of Idaho.
He and his wife, Shannon, have two sons and a daughter. Grant and Parker both played for the Boise Nationals Soccer Club (of which Chris served as president for seven years), and Claire is a budding figure skater.
An avid golfer, Chris loves to cook, travel, and enjoy fine wine.
